Step 1: Appointment or Field Visit

  1. Gather information– Browse online and through magazines to create a kitchen scrap book.  Add pictures of cabinets, countertops, hardware, and fixtures that you like. Make notes as to the manufacturers, colors you like, and storage options you envy.
  2. Establish a budget– Start with an estimated overall budget and then break it down into categories.  Our design team will help you build a more realistic budget as we learn about the scope of the project and the types of cabinets, countertops, and appliances you want to incorporate.
  3. Schedule your home visit– Schedule an appointment for us to evaluate your project.

Step 2: Home Visit

  1. Learning– We will start by learning about the work you are looking to do and your vision for your new kitchen. We will review your kitchen scrap book to help us understand the styles and features you would like in your new kitchen.
  2. About Us– We will give you a brief overview of CJB Group, the benefits of working with our company, and a review of our process so you understand what to expect as we move forward.
  3. Project Cost– We will discuss the general costs of your project and review how they fit into your budget. We will present job costs of similar projects that we have done in the past.
  4. Field measure– Our experts will take an accurate measure of your existing space.
  5. Questionnaire– We will gather the information that we need to design the kitchen of your dreams.
  6. Showroom appointment –  We will setup a time for your design viewing in our showroom. This will usually be scheduled one week after your home visit.

Step 3: Design Viewing & Material Cost

  1. Design viewing– Your showroom visit begins with viewing your new kitchen design. Seeing floor plans, top views, and perspectives of your new kitchen will give you an idea of what your new space has the potential to look like. We encourage feedback on the details that you love and the areas that you would like to improve.  Note: All designs are retained by CJB Group Kitchens unless the design is purchased.
  2. Material costs– There are several factors that need to be considered when choosing the perfect cabinets and countertops. We will explain your options and present cost estimates on materials that you have requested along with ones we believe complement your preferences and budget.
  3. Moving forward– Our home visit, initial design, and cost estimates are performed at no cost or obligation. If you feel confident in what we can do, we will move forward to our design development stage.

Step 4: Design Development & Material Selections

  1. Design agreement– Our design development begins with a signed design agreement and deposit. This allows us to release a copy of the kitchen design to you. The design deposit is 10% of the estimated cost of the cabinets  This deposit is non-refundable, but is applied to any cabinet or countertop purchase made within six months.
  2. Design development– We will finalize your design layout to make certain your kitchen design exceeds your expectations and each cabinet is equipped exactly as desired. Detailed floor plans, and elevations will be generated once the final design concept is completed.
  3. Material selections – We will finalize your material selections (cabinets, countertops, and hardware) and make sure they fit your style and meet your budget.

Step 5: Material Purchase, Production, and Delivery

  1. Order materials– Once final designs and products are approved, materials are ordered. Manufacturers require a 50% deposit to order materials and the remaining balance is due when the materials arrive in our warehouse. Once again, 100% of your design deposit will be applied to your purchase.
  2. Production– Our beautiful cabinets are built to order in 3 to 8 weeks. Quartz and granite countertop fabrication will take 1 to 2 weeks after we have done an accurate template and will then be scheduled for installation.
  3. Material delivery– We will contact you to set up a convenient time for delivery. You will receive a call the night before your anticipated delivery with a two-hour window of time.

Step 6: Installation

  1. Cabinets– Designers will meet with the installer or contractor to review the design and answer any questions regarding the installation.
  2. Countertops– Designers will meet the supplier at the template meeting and installation to assure that all details are covered.
